Port Congestion Surcharge Notice for Transpacific Trade
Dear Valued Customers,
As you know well, there is ongoing port congestion along the major US west
coast ports. Our service schedule and terminal operation are both seriously
disrupted, and that also results significant increase of operation cost and
financial loss. We has been exercising our best efforts in mitigating the impacts
toward our service level and shipside operation.
However, without foreseeable relief in sight, we are forced to trigger
congestion charge collection per our FMC filing rule no. 10-A18. The surcharge
will be effective for all cargo discharging at US West Coast ports on or after
November 18, 2014.
The quantum of charge is listed hereunder,
USD 800 per 20 Container
USD 1000 per 40 Container
USD 1125 per 40 High Cube Container
USD 1266 per 45 High Cube Container
Please be advised the port congestion surcharge was first announced in our
tariff in 2012 to address the risk of increased port congestion as result of any
labor-related issues, including but not limited to, labor action, work stoppage,
or slow-downs/disruptions. This charge will remain in effect until further
notice.
